HISTORY OF WEST
TERRACE PRIMARY SCHOOL
The West Terrace Primary School was officially opened on May 1st, 1985. It is the amalgamation of the now defunct St. John the Baptist Infant and St. John the Baptist Mixed schools. The Honourable Billie Miller Minister of Education at the time opened the campus.
The first principal was Ms. Anita Smith. She was then succeeded by Ms. Maureen Belle who came to office in 1991 and remained at the helm until 1997. Mr. Arthur Parris replaced her and retired as principal from the school in 2009. Mr. Ovid Gibbs became principal in 2009 and continued in this role until his retirement. Ms. Beverly Burrowes then took charge of the school until she retired in 2018. The current principal is Ms. Ometa Hinds.
